Well, my Huckleberry friends, fall officially ends today as the Polar Express pulls into town. The weathercasters are predicting 2-3 inches after dusk. Which is a down grade from the 6 inches or so that they were predicting. So we'll be slippin' and slidin' in the roads on the way home tonight.

Ex-Vandal Iupati looks homeward 

Canyon County residents may have a famous neighbor soon. Former Idaho Vandal and guard for the Arizona Cardinals, Mike Iupati, submitted an application on Nov. 30 to Canyon County's Development Services Department for a temporary permit to process and transport gravel from his 60 acre property in Star. Bald eagle bonanza booms on Lake CdA 

The bald eagle bonanza has boomed at Lake Coeur d'Alene's Wolf Lodge Bay in the past week. The number of bald eagles arriving for the annual congregation at Lake Coeur d’Alene doubled two weeks ago -- and that number tripled in the past week with a whopping 213 eagles counted today. Astronaut John Glenn, 95, American hero, RIP 

John Glenn, a freckle-faced son of Ohio who was hailed as a national hero and a symbol of the space age as the first American to orbit Earth, then became a national political figure for 24 years in the Senate, died on Thursday in Columbus, Ohio. He was 95. The New York Times reports.

Zags streamroll Huskies

The only intrigue during the second half was whether Gonzaga would administer its most lopsided win over Washington in 45 meetings. The eighth-ranked Zags pushed their lead to 34 twice before coasting to a 98-71 victory Wednesday in this one-sided rivalry. Gonzaga’s easiest win over UW was 37 in 1943.

Lewiston police chief sues Home Depot 29 

Lewiston Police Chief Chris Ankeny has sued Home Deport after being injured in a fall from a Husky Tools shelf that he purchased from the national big-box store. Ankeny suffered broken bones to his arm and back -- and is seeking in excess of $200,000.
