Transgender bathroom rule survives 13 

Transgender people can continue to use restrooms and other public facilities based on the gender with which they identify. The Senate narrowly rejected an effort to repeal a rule approved late last year by the Human Rights Commission which allows people to use public restrooms, bathrooms and locker rooms based on their gender identity.

Secretive hunt kills 20 wolves 

Twenty wolves were shot from a helicopter in northern Idaho in the past week, part of a wolf-control operation designed to improve elk survival in the area. That’s on top of 20 more wolves killed by hunters and trappers in the Lolo elk zone over the past year, according to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

Vicious-dog bill would end pitbull bans 

House Majority Leader Mike Moyle introduced legislation this afternoon aimed at beefing up Idaho’s dangerous dog laws, but it also would invalidate a half-dozen local county or city ordinances around the state that ban or restrict pit bulls.

Washington driver can't outrun law 

A Washington driver was arrested after a chase involving Kootenai County sheriff's deputies and now faces several charges including stealing a vehicle. The chase began at the Hayden Super 1 early this morning and ended at Building Center Drive when she slammed on her brakes and was rear-ended by a pursuing deputy's vehicle.

In a Facebook post, Councilwoman Kerri Thoreson of Post Falls asks: "why is gas at the pumps routinely so much higher in Post Falls than it is in Coeur d’Alene, a mere 8 miles away?" On Tuesday, gas was selling for $1.64 in Coeur d'Alene and $1.98 in Post Falls -- only 8 miles away. Anyone know the answer to this $64,000 question?
