Wild Card/Thursday — 2.11.16

During the last two days, I've made trips after work to my bank and Costco. At the bank, I'm greeted by tellers as I walk in who later ask, "How's your day going," as I approach their station. At Costco, I smile when I flash my card or head out the door with my goods to be checked. Nothing. No small talk. No greeting. The check-in and check-out people are like automatons who stare off into space after performing their nominal duties. The bank tellers seem almost too friendly. The Costco robots are the opposite.
