Ten states sued the federal government Friday over rules requiring public schools to allow transgender students to use restrooms and locker rooms conforming to their gender identity. Ben Votava, owner of the Nordman restaurant in the Priest Lake area, and Scott Yockum have reconciled re: a disagreement over Yockum's service dog, Daisy. Votava had refused to serve the disabled veteran as a result of the dog. Votava bought Yockum and beer and apologized. Yockum accepted the apology.
Task force statement on shootings 2
The Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations has issued a statement re: the shootings in Dallas, Texas, Baton Rouge, La., and St. Anthony, Minn. The task force, which originated as a response to the Aryan Nations, is calling for this country to turn away from violence and return to civil discourse.
