Betty Atkins, from Hauser, had the golden ticket at the NIC Foundation’s Really BIG Raffle drawing Wednesday, winning the $285,000 house with a ticket drawn in front of a crowd of about 2,500 behind the Edminster Student Union Building.

Cash and prizes totaling more than $325,000 were given away at the 23nd annual event, including the $285,000 house built by students in NIC’s carpentry program.

“We couldn’t do it without the help of all of the supporters of this event, who deserve a really big thank you,” said NIC Foundation Executive Director Rayelle Anderson. “We are so grateful to the community for their continued support of this important fundraiser, which directly benefits students through scholarships, technology and program needs.”

Winners of the first, second, third and fourth place prizes may apply the cash value to the prize of their choice, and did not need to be present to win.

This year’s winners were:

Grand prize $285,000 house—Betty Atkins, of Hauser, Idaho, with ticket #5109.

First place $20,000 car—Jack Gambill, of Colbert, Wash., with ticket #3648.
