Calling Sheriff Ben …

After hours of waiting for her daughter's turn to take her driver's license test at the local DMV, a frustrated Eden Irgens Facebooked about the experience. With her permission, I re-post that message here:

"My daughter has been sitting in line at the inadequately staffed ‪#‎dmv‬ most of the day. She pulled the number C25 and they were on B50 when we walked in. They are now on B88 now... Hours later! They have 2 people working. All testing stations are open with no one manning separately. She is here to take the test and has driving test at 3pm. If a business were run this poorly, it would go under. This is a great example of government administration failure!"

DFO: Coincidentally, my brother, Frito Ray, and my nephew Joe were at the DMV at the same time as Eden & her daughter. After a wait of almost 4 hours, Joe received his first driver's license. The 16YO boy is now street legal. Still, I can't imagine a good reason why an agency that has this much hands on experience with the public is allowed to process applicants so slowly. I don't blame the worker bees. I blame those who are handling the purse strings. The situation at the local DMV is deplorable and needs to be fixed. ASAP.
