3YO shoots Post Falls man in foot

A Rigby 3-year-old picked up an unattended, loaded gun Saturday and accidentally shot a man in the foot. Travis Sorensen, 25, of Idaho Falls, was helping a Rigby family move from a residence at 330 West 1st South in Rigby, when the boy picked up a .40-caliber hand gun and fired it. The bullet ricocheted off a window sill and hit Sorensen in his left foot, a Rigby Police news release said. The release said the gun was found between mattresses while a bed was being broken down. The gun was placed on the floor, where the boy later found it. Rigby Police Spokeswoman Carol Shackelford said she did not know if the gun was registered to anyone at the house/Post-Register.
