Post Falls man caught in act

At about 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a alarm monitoring company and advised of a residential alarm activation in the 15100 block of W. Riverview Drive, near Post Falls. Once on the scene, deputies a broken window and other damage that indicated a break-in had occurred. A male then exited the residence carrying a large backpack. Dillon L. Tower, 24, of Post Falls was taken into custody as he walked toward his bicycle. About 75 items of stolen jewelry, collectables, and other valuables were recovered from Tower’s backpack. All the items were believed to have been stolen from the residence and no other victims have been identified at this time. Tower was charged with burglary, grand theft, felony malicious injury to property, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
