Barricaded man surrenders

At about 8 this morning, deputies responded to the 12000 block of N. Church Road, northeast of Hauser, for a report of a trespassing. A homeowner, not on scene, called in stating his adult daughter was being held against her will by an ex-boyfriend, later identified as Joseph Peter Patriarca, 41, of New York City. Deputies arrived on scene and made verbal commands for Patriarca to exit the residence and made contact with the victim who exited the residence. The victim was moved to safety, but Patriarca remained barricaded in the residence. Verbal commands were made for about 40 minutes for Patriarca to exit the residence. Patriarca exited the residence and surrendered to the deputies. Patriarca was taken into custody for various charges including Rape, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment,
Battery, Obstructing, and Trespassing/Sgt C Case, Kootenai County Sheriff's Office.
