Giving sandwiches, voice to homeless

CdA native Justin Doering has traveled the U.S. for 3 months, listening to what the homeless has to say. His goal with the project, Fifty Sandwiches, is to humanize the homeless. He approaches people living on the street or in homeless shelters and offers to buy them a sandwich if they’ll share their story with him. Bethany Blitz/Press reports.

Edit: A killer who won't go away

In a Moscow-Pullman Daily News editorial today, Devin Rokyta laments that John Lee, who killed three Moscow residents and wounded another, is a murderer who won't go away. Last week, Lee filed documents to withdraw his guilty pleas and argued in a two-page handwritten motion that he was "not in the right state of mind" when he entered his pleas.
