BNSF, enviros reach settlement

BNSF Railway has reached a tentative settlement with Washington environmental groups over coal dust from uncovered train cars. Under the agreement, the railroad will fund a two-year study into methods for covering rail cars carrying coal. BNSF will also spend $1 million on conservation and restoration projects in the state and cleanup coal or petcoke deposits near water bodies/Becky Kramer, SR. More here.
