Idaho neighborhood refuses camp for kids with cancer
Organizers announced last month they were in the process of buying a larger property in the unincorporated neighborhood of Triumph near the resort town of Ketchum. Camp Rainbow Gold leaders say the move would allow more kids to attend camp.
But the Idaho Mountain Express reported that Triumph residents came out strongly against the plan during a community meeting last week, saying it would increase traffic in the rural area.
Camp Rainbow Gold Executive Director Elizabeth Lizberg says it’s hard to hear that people want the organization to leave, especially after years of support from donors in the region.
