Missoula OKs stricter gun laws

Missoula joins the list of cities around the nation enforcing stricter gun laws than are handed down from the federal level. This makes them the first city in Montana to do so.

While several other cities have kept an eye on how the ordinance in Missoula unfolds, they're not likely to see a similar ordinance anytime.

The new law passed Monday night in an 8-4 vote will require a criminal background check for most private firearm sales or trades within city limits, with some exceptions including family transfers, hunting, and emergency self-defense/ABCFoxMontana. More here.
