I know one person who has voted today, in the hospital board and Eastside Highway District races. She's a knowledgeable voter. But she admitted that she was flying blind in voting in the hospital board races. She also voted for our friend John Austin in the Eastside Highway District race. I'm in the same boat as her.

'Tarzan' must go 16 

If you been to City Beach or Independence Point in the last week, you've seen a water jungle gym contraption hundreds feet into the water. It has a slide, swing, diving board and a platform to play on. City staffers refer to it as "Tarzan." A private party placed Tarzan there recently after he was unable to get city permission to do so.

Hiawatha Trail to open season May 27 

The Route of the Hiawatha rail trail across the Montana-Idaho border will open for hiking and mountain biking on May 27. The 15-mile trail along the abandoned Milwaukee Railroad grade through the Bitterroot Mountains includes 10 tunnels and seven trestles as high as 230 feet between Taft (MT) and the North Fork of the St. Joe River.

The Washington Post has reported that President Donald Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week. CdA woman describes Mexico ordeal 

Vikki Moormann, a retired Coeur d'Alene High teacher, describes being held captive in a private Mexican hospital after a diabetic episode. Moormann was kept at the hospital because she couldn't pay $35,000 in medical treatment. She had been on a trip to Nuevo Vallarta on Mexico's Pacific rim when the incident happened.
