Parting Shot -- 4.18.17 

The Parting Shot today features a bus crash west of Richfield, Idaho, in which at least 17 students were taken to hospitals, some with serious injuries. The busy, carrying 39 students to a track meet, rolled over on a rural stretch of road in central Idaho.

Wild Card/Tuesday -- 4.18.17 

As you know, I took part in a discussion of the poetry of the late Tom Wobker, The Bard of Sherman Avenue, at Melissa Demotte's The Well-Read Moose Monday, in celebration of National Poetry Month. I enjoyed it. The audience of 50 to 60 joined poets Tod Marshall, Roger Dunsmore and me in reading Tom's poetry.

UIdaho seeks 6% tuition increase 15 

The University of Idaho is set to ask for a tuition increase double what it got last year, when the Idaho State Board of Education meets Wednesday in Moscow. My 2 Cents: Save Tubbs Hill parcels 

There are no bad guys in the struggle between Mayor Steve Widmyer and ignite cda over 2 parcels of urban renewal property on the northeastern edge of Tubbs Hill that had been targeted for sale. But the city would benefit more by keeping the property for green space rather than selling it to a developer to raise funds for urban renewal elsewhere.

Wayne Hoffman and his Idaho Freecom Foundation have released their 2017 Idaho Freedom Index scores. In North Idaho, the Freedom Foundation awards an A+ to the worst legislator in the state, Rep.
