Bruce: Don’t bail out UI sports

Bruce Twitchell (RE: UIdaho seeks athletic bailout, 7% tuition hike): "Athletic bailout? Here is my personal opinion. If any other department at a college was losing that much money, they would make cuts. Lots of cuts. Tough times call for tough measures. If any other program had that low of the students actually becoming a professional in field, that program would likely be cut. So, now that the athletics are millions of dollars in the hole, all students must pay to help bail them out? I don't like that. Not one bit."

Question: Should the state help out University of Idaho sports now that the school has decided to drop down a division -- and lose revenue from big-ticket football games?
