Official news release re: resignation of CdA Supt of Schools Matt Handelman:

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – Superintendent Matt Handelman informed the Board this week that he has been offered, and has accepted, a position with Evergreen Public Schools. Today, the Board officially accepted the resignation.

To help ensure a seamless transition, Matt has agreed to continue to serve as Superintendent until April 30 and will provide consulting and related services to the District through the remainder of the 2017 fiscal year. During this period of transition, the responsibilities of the Superintendent will be placed in the capable hands of Dr. Trina Caudle, current Director of Secondary Education, on an interim basis.

"I want to thank the board, district and community for the opportunity to serve this amazing school district and community. The Coeur d’Alene School District will always hold a special place in my heart and I will continue to support the great people of the district however I can as I transition to an exciting new professional opportunity," stated Matt Handelman.

"Matt will be missed and the Board is grateful for Matt’s years of leadership and tireless service to this District. We all wish him the very best in his future endeavors," stated board chair Casey Morrisroe.

"The Board will be meeting soon to begin discussions on the careful and thoughtful process that will need to take place in order to fill this critical position. And as always, we will continue our focus on the mission of this District and serving its great students, staff and patrons," concluded Morrisroe.
