SR biz editor joins CSDistrict

Coeur d’Alene Public Schools is proud to announce Scott Maben as the district’s new Director of Communications. Maben currently serves as the Business Editor at The Spokesman-Review and previously managed their Coeur d’Alene bureau as Deputy City Editor. With more than 25 years of experience in reporting and management, Scott brings valuable insight of the public sector and the operation of local, state, and federal agencies, including budget hearings, public elections, labor relations and crisis management.

Before coming to Coeur d’Alene, Maben was a news reporter for The Register Guard in Eugene, Oregon. He has a Bachelor of Science degree, journalism major from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication.

“Scott will be a valuable asset to our district,” said Dr. Trina Caudle, Director of Secondary Education and the district’s Acting Superintendent as of May 1. “He offers a unique perspective, broad familiarity with the issues of our region, and the enthusiasm needed support our vision as an educational leader, promoting opportunities for innovation in learning and inspiring excellence.”
He is the parent of one student in the Coeur d’Alene school district and will begin his new role on June 19.
