Huckleberries Online

Huckleberries Past — Feb 17, 1985

From Kootenai Grapevine/Huckleberries column of Feb. 17, 1985:

Prosecutor Glen Walker says he isn't ignoring building code violations at the Aryan Nations complex near Hayden.

In his February newsletter, North Idaho Trace, Rathdrum real estate agent Dave Henderson accused county officials of ducking a confrontation with the Aryans.

County commissioners said they aren't going to do something until advised by Walker.

The prosecutor said the building code issue isn't a trop priority at the moment -- particularly since the head of his civil division, Richard Kasper, has been sidelined with back surgery.

"It's not on the front burner right now," Walker said, adding that "There's no question we're going to bring it up again for consideration."

Also, he said, "We have a situation where you don't have complaints."

Until Henderson, that is.
