Mike Kennedy remembers the late Jim Shepperd:

I met Jim within a month of moving here in 1991 at the Democratic Club lunch at the Iron Horse - I was being introduced around by Jeff Bell, then staffer for Rep. LaRocco. Jim was a few seats away from me when I was deciding what to order in my first time at the restaurant. I asked the server about the Clam Chowder, she said it was available, and Jim piped up to the "new guy" with: "Yea, Mike and you're in luck. I heard last week they got a new clam!" I have no idea why it struck me so darn funny, but it did. And I still use that line, giving credit to one of the nicest and most patriotic people I've ever met in my life. Jim will be greatly missed.
