Here's an item from Kootenai Grapevine/Huckleberries from Feb. 6, 1989:

Commissioner Bob Haakenson figures he kills two birds with the same rock when he dines on the county jail's "bumper burgers" (roadkill venison): It enables him to conduct business over lunch and gives him ammo to combat those who complain about cook Dan Kenney's fare. The food's good, maintains Haakenson. That'll be 90 cents, Mr. Commissioner.
