Edit: Abortion isn’t murder

In an editorial for the Moscow-Pullman Daily News, Devin Rokyta editorializes:

A group of Idaho residents wants to change state law to make performing or having an abortion an act of first-degree murder.

The group, Abolish Abortion Idaho, is in the early stages of collecting signatures to get its proposed initiative on the November 2018 ballot. It'll need to submit at least 56,000 signatures of registered Idaho voters - which includes at least 6 percent of the total registered voters in 18 of the 35 legislative districts - to be verified by the state's county clerks by April 19, 2018.

We hope they fall well short of their goal, however, even if they do collect the signatures and receive enough support from voters to pass the initiative, we suspect the proposed change will have an extremely difficult time holding up in the court of law, at least as things stand now. More here.
