Starbucks saves a customer

FlorineD (RE: Newby: Only suckers drink Starbucks): "A comment about Starbucks. Yesterday I was there and ordered my many-year standard in town, requiring sugar-free hazelnut syrup. When I was advised that they no longer stocked sugar-free hazelnut, I got plain coffee and advised that in the future I'd be getting coffee elsewhere. I sat down, chatted with my pal, ate my breakfast sandwich and was surprised when a server (actually the manager) came to my table, placed a cup by me and said that she'd been told that I was disappointed by their lack of my standard and had made me a sugar-free cinnamon for me to try, gratis. The gesture re-won my occasional business, and I told them so on my way out. Good management decision, I'd say."

Question: Have you ever been placated in a bad situation at a business by a wise manager or owner?
