Anything for love

Duane Rasmussen describes his niece Lindsey as a "determined" woman. That determination allowed Lindsey to get into the exclusive dental school at Loma Linda University in California after she graduated from North Idaho College and the University of Idaho. She wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father, Stan, a Coeur d'Alene dentist. That determination also came into play during the Christmas holiday when she and fiancé Daniel Gross, both age 23, worked in the tight window of a school break to marry in Coeur d'Alene and honeymoon. Part of that tight window involved taking photo on a chilly Dec. 27 on the Lake Coeur d'Alene shoreline. Lindsey and Daniel brave the temperatures in the 30s, with the wind whipping off the lake, to pose for photographer Vickie Atkins Close. Duane, who knew his niece was chilled to the bone as she stood in the snow trying to keep her wedding dressed from being damaged, retrieved a red blanket for her from his vehicle. The couple were married the next day. Then, they went on their honeymoon. The new Lindsey Rasmussen Gross escaped all that without getting sick -- the illness came later, after she returned to school, and forced her to miss four days. Daniel, meanwhile, returned to his studies at the Loma Linda medical school. (Duane Rasmussen took all 4 photos in the package above)
