Duane: Coming to USA is a privilege

Duane Rasmussen (RE: "Parting Shot"): "Coming to America is a privilege not a right. On his way to America, my grandfather was delayed for two weeks in New York Harbor over a hundred years ago. As the Statue of Liberty stood watch, he spent the time reading books and learning English not calling lawyers and complaining about his lack of rights. No one was there to put on a scene for him or collapse on the floor with flowers so their photograph could be taken by a crusading photographer."

Question: When did your family first come to this country?
