Avista sold to Canadian firm 

Avista was sold for $5.3 billion to a Canadian company called Hydro One, the companies announced today. The all-cash deal includes the assumption of Avista’s $1.9 billion debt. According to a statement, Avista will keep its corporate headquarters in Spokane.

Idaho Gov. Butch Otter issued this statement on the Idaho Supreme Court’s ruling upholding his veto of the grocery tax repeal bill: "I am pleased that my veto was upheld.
