Update: CPD IDs, interviews person of interest in assault of woman near Corner Bar
Update: Thanks to information provided from citizens who saw the original media release, detectives were able to identify and interview the male who was a person of interest in the June 25, 2017 incident near 5th Street and Poplar Avenue in Coeur d’Alene. This is still an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time. A portion of the original release is listed below/CPD.

In the early morning hours of June 25, 2017, Coeur d’Alene Police Officers responded to a parking lot near N 5th St and E Poplar Ave to check on an unconscious female. In addition to being unconscious, the female showed signs of possible sexual assault. The female was later taken to Kootenai Health. Prior to being found in the parking lot, the female victim was at the Corner Bar. Surveillance footage from the bar showed an older white male was talking with the victim and left the bar at about the same time the victim did.
Coeur d’Alene Police Detectives are looking to identify the male and talk with him about the contact he had with the victim. The male is a thin white male, approximately 65 years old with medium length white hair. He was wearing a green and white Hawaiian type shirt with blue jeans.
