Update: CdA murder suspect Denson found dead 

The man accused of killing a Coeur d’Alene resident Wednesday was found dead in a car on Bruss Road near Highway 53 Thursday afternoon. Police had been searching for 61-year-old Steven T. Denson after his former fiance, 37-year-old Kelly A. Pease, was found shot dead in her car in a parking lot outside Kootenai Health Wednesday afternoon.

Dressed in pajama bottoms and snow boots, he asked his mother, Angela, to build a fire from the wood nearby. His mother and he were suffering cabin fever. As he waited for the fire that didn't happen, David's world got topsy turvy.

Wild Card/Thursday -- 3.9.17 15 

I'm starting to enjoy my Thursday work days more. By 5 p.m. Wednesday, I'm through with my writing of four columns for the week. My next deadline will be 5 p.m. Friday (for Mondays paper). My decision to drop a 5th column per week was a good one. The Thursday break allows me to come up for air for a day without the deadline pressure.

But it was another child who prompted her to become a CASA in the first place -- Summer Phelps, 4, who died of severe domestic abuse.

Victim Facebooked re: domestic abuse 

Kelly Pease, 37, of CdA, message on her Facebook wall on Monday, two days before she was found shot to death in a vehicle in a Kootenai Health parking lot. Coeur d'Alene police are looking for Steven T. Denson, 61, of Post Falls, who is suspected of killing the former Bonners Ferry woman. Denson, according to KXLY, has history of domestic violence.

CdA snow total hits 111.2 inches 

As of Wednesday afternoon, 111.2 inches of snow had fallen in Coeur d'Alene this winter, making it the seventh-snowiest winter on record. Surpassing the No. 6 spot of 111.6 inches in 1949-50 was expected last night, Coeur d'Alene Press meteorologist Randy Mann said.
