Commissioners declare emergency
News release from Kootenai County Board of Commissioners:
The Board of Commissioners has declared that a Flood Disaster Emergency exists within Kootenai County as a result of high levels of spring runoff causing widespread flooding. This declaration, which was adopted as Board Resolution No. 2017-31, acknowledges that flooding has resulted in damage to public and private property, that the potential exists for additional damage, and that additional resources may be needed to provide emergency management services. All relevant county departments are engaged in flood mitigation efforts. The full text of the Resolution is attached for reference.
The Kootenai County Board of Commissioners furthermore requested Kootenai County be added to the state disaster declaration.
