Parting Shot -- 3.27.17

I'm not sure where photographer Don Sausser snapped this photo. I suspect it was in the Independence Point area since Don's eye in the sky overlooks that portion of north shore real estate. Obviously, the recent flooding has provided us with some interesting flotsam on Lake Coeur d'Alene this year.

On today's Wild Card, FlorineD comments re: an extraordinary display of cool at the Spokane Symphony Sunday. Seems the guest violinist was in the middle of Tchaikovsky's violin concerto when a string on his Strad broke. The guest violinist traded violins with the concert master, beginning a series of flawless handoffs.

Reflections on Lake Coeur d'Alene

Photographer Don Sausser caught this shot of reflections at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Boardwalk Sunday. The boardwalk was hard hit by the recent flooding. But I suspect that it won't be long before the preparation for the tourism season begins in earnest again.

So Rep. John McCrostie, D-Boise, has proposed a constitutional amendment to ensure that the stalling tactics of state Reps. Heather Scott and Priscilla Giddings won't get in the way next session. Trib: Do grandstanders have a point?

Marty Trillhaase/Lewiston Tribune and other political observers didn't expect much from the 2017 Idaho Legislature. But he did expect the lackluster session to end on time. The Legislature wasn't able to meet that modest goal due to the grandstanding of two Panhandle representations: Heather Scott & Priscilla Giddings.

In a Lewiston Tribune column, Kathy Hedberg comments: "I know I should not look a gift horse in the mouth but when the 20-something store clerk gave me the senior citizens discount recently without even asking for my ID, I was miffed." Question (for Seasoned Citizens): Do you get miffed when a clerk arbitrarily gives you a senior discount?
