Candidate John Rubert withdrew from his race against Lisa May in the Coeur d'Alene School Board Zone 1 race this afternoon. County Clerk Jim Brannon told Huckleberries that Rubert withdrew Friday. His decision to withdraw means that May, the chairwoman of the Coeur d'Alene Long Range Planning Committee, is the only candidate for the seat now held by Trustee Christa Hazel. Hazel has decided not to seek re-election.
