County to build transit center

Kootenai County is moving ahead with plans for a transit center in Riverstone, even after emotional testimony against it. Sgt Moore to receive Medal of Honor

Sgt. Greg Moore of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, who was killed in the line of duty on May 5, 2015, will be one of three officers to be honored with the Idaho Medal of Honor Wednesday. The other two officers are Sgt. Kyle Moore and Chief Deputy Mike Barclay, both of the Elmore County Sheriff's Office.

Missing mushroom hunter found dead 

The body of a Coeur d’Alene man reported missing on Saturday morning was found in Shoshone County on Sunday morning, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said. A vehicle belonging to Mark K. Arnold, 54, was found around 9 a.m. by searchers on Forest Service Road 335 in Shoshone County, near Hemlock Mountain. The Press reports.
