Wild Card/Thursday — 5.18.17

I feel sorry for Spokane boosters. They spend all kinds of money to come up with a slogan that fits the town. And come up empty. Twice. Near Nature, Near Perfect? Creative by Nature? In Coeur d'Alene, we have a natural in "City with A Heart." It's somewhat descriptive of the giving nature of the town (despite the best efforts of the CAVErs and the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee) to prove otherwise. Besides, it's in our name, COEUR d'Alene. "City by the Lake" is good, too. And descriptive. Mebbe Spokane should just go with the suggestion made by Wedeln here earlier this week. Something like Spokane is OK -- it's in the middle of our name. Here's today's Wild Card ...
