Businessman Duane Hagadone is again asking the city of Coeur d’Alene to annex his Blackwell Island properties. On Tuesday, the city’s planning commission will take up the Hagadone Corp.’s annexation request, which includes 24 acres on southern end of Blackwell Island plus submerged lands.

A fire destroyed a garage south of Post Falls on Tuesday night causing an estimated $75,000 worth of damage. The contents lost during the blaze at 863 S. Star Garnet Road included a 2015 Subaru wagon, a riding lawn mower and a sauna, according to Kootenai County Fire and Rescue officials.
The Coeur d’Alene Tribe has declined to renew Coeur d’Alene Casino CEO Dave Matheson’s contract this week and will begin a search for a new CEO, preferably from within the organization. “His contract came up and the council decided not to renew it,” said Helo Hancock, legislative director for the Tribe.
