Cis: Enough Of All The Gadgets

The electronics that are coming out fast and furious is getting so out of hand for those of us over 60. Most of us held our heads high with the coming of computers. Even as they changed, we slowly came along with each one… but now? I don’t know.. I know my computer is far smarter than I am… and if some teen came in and
used it .. they could get it to stand up and sing, so to speak. But I-pods, I-pads, I-phones, Blackberry’s, Adroid or something like that, Kindles and Nooks instead of books. And there are so many other electronic things there that I don’t have a clue how to operate/Cis, From A Simple Mind. More here.

Question: Which type of electronic equipment intimidates you most?

Cis: Joys & Sorrows Of Facebook

After a year at Facebook, I think I have figured it out. Facebook is real life soap opera … Or like an accident that is happening and even though you don’t want to look , you do. About 2 years ago, l actually I started out very limited. I had a family member who would send pictures and she was a member of MySpace and Facebook. So it was easier for me with dial up, to go there and look at all their pictures.. and not have to wait an hour for them to download. Since thing Face book has become a thing of joy and of sorrow. I have got to see my grandchildren by my children’s Facebook. I have reconnected with some of my grandchildren. Even got to see my latest Great Granddaughter Ava. I have more contact with some of my friends.. So it does have it’s positive side of it. But I have also seen part of my family fall apart thru Facebook. Heart breaking/Cis, From A Simple Mind. More here.

Question: Have you had a similar experience to Cis' re: your time on Facebook?

Cis: ‘Deliverance’ North Idaho Style

Cis (re: “Boundary County Republicans (heart) Hart”): Actually it doesn’t surprise me … being the area is a close to the movie “Deliverance” … And I have never been a fan of Anderson, but I have to give him kudo’s for stepping up to the plate when no one in his party did …

Question: Are there places you’ve gone in North Idaho that you can swear you’ve heard the distant notes of dueling banjos?

Cis: Still Early To Bed, Early To Rise

My body goes with daylight. Meaning when the sun is up, my body wakes me and I get out of bed. And when it is dark, I start to run down. Probably comes from my childhood. As we woke up at dawn to do the farm work. And my folks had us in bed by the time it got dark or shortly after. I think 8p.m. was our bedtime for winter. Over the years, I was always an early riser/Cis, From A Simple Mind. More here.

Question: Are you an early riser? How early?

Cis: Can’t Afford Silverwood Now

Cis: Tickets is $41.99??!!! FOR THE DAY??? HOLY COW… When I started going there in 1989 I got a season pass for $36 and we paid $96 for a Gold pass. Which allowed my husband to take two others with him. Which was handy when my kids came up with the grandchildren. We got season passes for about 5 years. I think it was $39 for the season and the Gold pass had went up to $129. We loved the air show and the train. We weren’t too happy with the carnval side of it … But we love to sit and listen to Rod put his show on in the saloon. And Rex Castle was great show too. So we got good shows for the buck. And Gary’s son was working the popcorn stand in the puppet show of Rex’s. Last time we went was some time in the 1990’s I think my grandson was about 8 (he is 19 now) Wow, $41.99, guess I won’t be going anymore…. Do they still have half prices or less after 5pm? Use to be $8.

Question: Can you still afford to go to Silverwood? If so, what feature do you like most?

Cis: Skies Becoming Unfriendly

Cis: A friend and I were just talking on Easter about flying and how we use to really enjoy it… and now we hate it.. it isn’t the strip down part to get on the plane… it is the tight seats, the charging for lousy food, hardly any leg room … Makes driving more appealling … at least you can stop when you want and walk around. Stop for food and etc. we fly when it is a matter of time element … rest we drive. And if I had to fly to one of the big airports where take off time is 2 and 8 hours waiting to take off … I think I would lose it.

Question: Which part of the flying experience do you like most/least?

Cis, Because You Asked …

Cis/Simple Mind asks: I know the gathering up of the local blogs is a pain, but I got to ask … How do you decide which ones to grab. Is it a random thing, like whatever is there for the day you decide to take from one of us. Or do you read thru the last couple days titles and see which one is a good one. As sometimes you will pull my one for the day, and some times you will pull one from a couple days before.

DFO: Cis, there is a method to my madness. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I highlight the blogs from A through M. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I highlight the remainder. On the off-days, when I have time, I also check out the bloggers that post regularly (like Dogwalk, Slight Detour, TUBOB, and yours) in search of material for a stand-alone post. For regular posters like you, there’s a chance that good material will fall through the cracks on off-days.
