Kootenai County Clerk Cliff Hayes announced today that he has arranged for two separate reviews of money-handling procedures in his division. Jim Simmerman, a former bank auditor and retired Captain with the Post Falls Police Department, begins individual reviews today. How long his review work will take is unknown at this time. “A three-decade former employee of this division was charged with a felony that may have gone undetected for years. That’s unacceptable to me, as well as to the taxpayers and citizens”, Hayes continued. “We’re going to be sure we understand how every dollar is received, reported and forwarded to others”/County Clerk Cliff Hayes.
