It’s a university steeped in tradition, both athletic and academic. But, something has always been missing at Gonzaga University. Until this fall, GU had no official fight song. But, the work of two former students and the leadership of Gonzaga’s Kennel Club changed that; GU finally has a fight song all its own/Melissa Luck, KXLY. More here.
Question: Do you remember your high school or college fight song? Was it a decent one?
(Monday), Washington State University issued a news release about its fight song. According 
to the sports site Bleacher Report, Cougars can claim theirs to be the best fight song on the West Coast. It was rated No. 8 in the country. Michigan leads “The Top 15 College Fight Songs” rankings, and Notre Dame is No. 2. Can’t really question those two, although the contributing columnist in this case — David Luther — happens to be a Michigan resident and has acknowledged his love for the Irish/Eric Degerman, SportsTri-Cities.com. Do you know the words to your alma mater’s fight song? I thought ours was “We are the Champions.” Maybe Queen stole it?
