Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is a Christian, as he rarely misses an opportunity to say. Former Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer says he’s heard it enough from Tebow that he doesn’t need to hear it any more. In an interview with 910-AM in Phoenix, Plummer said that he thinks highly of the way Tebow is winning games in Denver, but he wishes Tebow would cool it on turning post-game interviews into an opportunity to proselytize. “I wish he’d just shut up after a game and go hug his teammates,” Plummer said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “I think that when he accepts the fact that we know that he loves Jesus Christ then I think I’ll like him a little better. I don’t hate him because of that, I just would rather not have to hear that every time he takes a good snap or makes a good handoff”/Michael David Smith, NBC Sports. More here.
Question: Does Tim Tebow's witness for Jesus Christ bug you?
A national atheist organization took credit Thursday for persuading the U.S. Forest Service to deny a special use permit that for decades has allowed a statue of Jesus Christ to occupy a bite of public land on Big Mountain. The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation, which works to keep religion out of government, said the land lease was “unconstitutional” because religious symbolism cannot legally exist on federal property. The group claimed responsibility for a recent Forest Service decision that could lead to the statue's removal from a small swatch of Flathead National Forest land. The statue has been perched at the top of Whitefish Mountain Resort's Chair 2 since 1955, and was installed by a local chapter of the Knights of Columbus as a memorial to veterans of World War II, who encountered religious shrines in the mountains abroad/Tristan Scott, Missoulian. DFO: As a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ will return a second time to Planet Earth. However, I shake my head any time I see or hear about any organization, religious sect, or individual predicting the exact date. A lot have done so. And had egg on their faces afterward.

The Taylors are asking school officials to ban the use of a book that refers to Jesus Christ as a “wine-guzzling vagrant and precocious socialist.” Story here. (AP Photo/Cheryl Senter)
Question: Should books be removed from school curriculum when they disparage a central figure of a religion, like Jesus Christ or Mohammed or Buddha?
