… That prominent Kootenai County Republican Angela Cross wrote a terse letter to Reagan Republican leader Jeff Ward, chastizing him for urging a boycott his followers to boycott the county GOP Central Committee meeting last night. HucksOnline has obtained a copy of that letter. Cross, wife of Region 1 GOP Chairman John Cross, writes to Ward that “encouraging your fellow PC's (precinct committeemen) to not attend a 'legal' meeting of the KCRCC where the problem (plan to reduce voting precincts) can be discussed in an open forum and voted on rather than only you being able to use your bully pulpit, smacks of arrogance.” Also in the letter, Cross criticized Ward for being part of a public relations group (Ron Lahr's Strategery) that has made money from candidates endorsed by Reagan Republicans. Cross culminates her letter to Ward by saying: “Ronald Reagan would be ashamed of your behavior.”
Duane Rasmussen: Yes I was there. It was a very up beat type of program. I saw people from Rally Right, Reagan Republicans, Panhandle Pachyderms, North Idaho Pachyderms, Women Republicans, the Tea Party organizations and most if not all the Republican Central Committees in the five northern counties of Idaho. John Cross who is the Republican Region One Chairman, played a prominent roll as did Representative Phil Hart, Representative Vito Barbieri, Representative Dick Harwood and Kootenai Sheriff candidate, John Green (pictured). Mr. Green recited an event when as a young Deputy Sheriff and he was sent to back up two IRS agents who where conducting a seizure of assets. He stated that he should have arrested the agents then and there but did not have the knowledge and courage to do so at the time. He promised that things will be different when he becomes Sheriff. There was significant talk about RINOs and a degree of gloating about the progress Conservatives had made against the Rino’s in the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee. Question: A favorite of the Hard Right in Kootenai County is sheriff's candidate John Green (pictured). Ever heard of him?
Saying their actions were detrimental to the party, the Region 1 Republican Central Committee approved a “no confidence” vote last week against Sens. Shawn Keough of Sandpoint (left) and Joyce Broadsword (right) of Sagle. “As elected state officials, your actions have demonstrated that you do not understand, care about, or are acting in a manner that is consistent in the best interests of your constituents,” Region 1 RCC Chairman John Cross said in the letter of censure. “Instead, (you) have used your political positions to further personal agendas and promote the best interests of the opposing political party in direct opposition to the Republican ideals we hold dearly.” The region encompasses the five northern counties - Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai and Shoshone. While it has no legal effect, the vote sends the message that party officials are unhappy with the pair's actions/Caroline Lobsinger, Hagadone News Network. More here.
Question: Can you believe that Region 1 Republicans would castigate Sens. Shawn Keough & Joyce Broadsword while sending a letter of support to House Speaker Lawerence Denney for Rep. Phil Hart?
