Raul: Gore Should Return Peace Prize

Congressman Raul Labrador's response to a question re: climate change presented by David Gregory of NBC's “Meet the Press”:

It’s interesting that about a decade ago there was a lot of talk about “global warming.” Thirty years ago we were talking about “global cooling.” Now all we hear about is “climate change.” There has been evidence throughout history of cycles when the earth gets warmer and cycles when the earth gets colder. We should always be wise stewards of the earth and all of our natural resources. But as a policymaker, I won't be guided by the global warming propaganda machine. Al Gore - we need you to return your Nobel Peace Prize!/Meet the Press. Full transcript of interview here.

Marty Cheers Labrador Muslim Stand

CHEERS … to Congressman Raul Labrador (pictured), R-Idaho. Appearing on “Meet the Press” Sunday, Labrador took the path not typically traveled by an American politician of either party: He complained about religious persecution against Muslims. What triggered the discussion was the old canard that President Obama is a Muslim. “You know, I personally don't believe he's a Muslim,” Labrador said. “He has told us that he's a Christian and I believe him. … But it wouldn't matter if he is. …What we need to look at is the policies. … It's not what his religion is.” What makes that statement remarkable is how few people in public life are willing to say that. The last one was former Secretary of State Colin Powell/Marty Trillhaase, Lewiston Tribune. Full Cheers & Jeers column here.

Question: What do you think of Congressman Labrador's stand?

Labrador To ‘Meet The Press’ Already

Just four days after being sworn in, Idaho's 1st District GOP Rep. Raúl Labrador will appear on the signature Sunday talk show, “Meet the Press with David Gregory.” Labrador's office announced the booking late Thursday in a news release. By Friday morning, the Meet the Press website showed Labrador on Sunday's guest list. On the air since Postmaster General James Farley was the first guest in November 1947, Meet the Press is the longest-running show in U.S. TV history/Dan Popkey, Idaho Statesman. More here.

Question: Why do you think “Meet the Press” wants to meet a freshman representative from Idaho's 1st Congressional District?
