Pakistanis Level Bin Laden Compound

In this combo of two pictures, a Pakistani woman and children stand next to the remained boundary wall of Osama bin Laden's compound earlier today, top, and, heavy machinery demolishes the main building of bin Laden's compound on Sunday, bottom, in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Pakistani authorities have reduced the house where bin Laden lived for years before he was killed by U.S. commandos to rubble, destroying a concrete symbol of the country's association with one of the world's most reviled men. AP: Porn Found At Bin Laden Hideout

A sizeable stash of pornography was among the items seized when U.S. Navy SEALs raided the Pakistani hideout of Osama bin Laden, almost two weeks ago, U.S. officials say. The officials said it was unclear who the material belonged to, and there was no way to know whether bin Laden had viewed it. Bin Laden's son and two other adult male couriers lived at the compound, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss matters of intelligence. The pornography was among the computer materials confiscated in the raid after the SEALs killed bin Laden, ending an almost ten-year manhunt for the terrorist behind the 9/11 terror attacks/Associated Press. Bin Laden Did Very Little Running

Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, left, and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahri, are seen in this undated video tape released Wednesday. For a man on the run, Osama bin laden seemed to do very little running. Instead, he chose to spend long stretches _ possibly years _ in one place and often in the company of his family. (AP Photo/Al Jazeera via APTN, File)

Question: How has your image of Osama bin Laden changed in the weeks since he was gunned down?

Question: Now that Osama bin Laden's been sleeping with the fishes for more than a week, has your thinking about the raid, President Obama's role in it, or the potential for retribution changed at all?

More Info: Like most Americans, Dan English had a lot of questions running through his mind Sunday night when he heard about the death of Osama bin Laden. But on Monday, one detail prompted a few more. “I heard the report that it (bin Laden's burial) was off the Carl Vinson,” he said. That's the aircraft carrier his daughter Mamie English-Ciscernos is stationed on.

Question: Have you or any member of your family had a brush with history?

Al-Qaida Confirms Bin Laden’s Death

One of three wives living with Osama bin Laden told Pakistani interrogators she had been staying in the al-Qaida chief’s hideout for six years, and could be a key source of information about how he avoided capture for so long, a Pakistani intelligence official said today. In its first confirmation of bin Laden’s death, al-Qaida warned of retaliation in an Internet statement, saying Americans’ “happiness will turn to sadness.” Bin Laden’s wife, identified as Yemeni-born Amal Ahmed Abdullfattah, said she never left the upper floors of the house the entire time she was there/Associated Press. More here.

Question: Are you surprised that al-Qaeda readily admits Bin Laden is dead?

Bin Laden Unarmed When Shot Down

The White House retreated Tuesday from its most provocative assertions about the operation to kill Osama bin Laden, acknowledging that the al Qaeda leader was neither armed nor hiding behind a female human shield when U.S. commandos fatally shot him during a predawn raid. The disclosures put the Obama administration on the defensive about whether it had exaggerated elements of earlier accounts for propaganda gain. At the same time, additional details surfaced Tuesday that depict a mission begun amid far greater political and operational uncertainty than had been revealed/Greg Miller, Joby Warwick, Washington Post. Question: Does it bother you that Osama bin Laden was unarmed when he was shot to death?

Fake Bin Laden Photos Hit Internet

The images are bloody, grotesque and convincing: Osama bin Laden lies dead, the left side of his head blasted away. But the pictures are fakes. Doctored photos purporting to show bin Laden's corpse rocketed around the world on television, online via social media and in print almost as soon as his death was announced. The pictures have spread without regard for their origin or whether the images are real. Meanwhile, scammers have piggybacked on the popularity of the images and spiked supposed online links with computer viruses/Associated Press. More here.

Question: Why do/don't you want to see photo of dead Osama bin Laden?

“Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaeda killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the Internet,” said Representative Mike Rogers, Republican of Michigan and chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. “Osama bin Laden is not a trophy. He is dead, and let’s now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaeda has been eliminated”/Mark Landler, New York Times. More here.

Labrador: Declare Victory, Get Out

Even before foreign policy heavyweights like Sen. Richard Lugar suggested accelerating U.S. withdrawal on Tuesday, Idaho's freshman 1st District Raul Labrador said the death of Osama bin Laden should hasten America's exit. “I do think this is a great time to declare victory in Afghanistan and to look for a way to get out of there,” Labrador told the Idaho Statesman on Monday. We are supposed to start withdrawing this fall, but hopefully we can do it even sooner than that. I think we had accomplished our mission even before (bin Laden's death). We had done certain things to slow down the growth of al-Qaeda, to stop what they were doing”/Dan Popkey, Idaho Statesman. More here.

Question: Do you care what happens to Afghanistan (if we followed Congressman Labrador's advice and declared victory and left)?

Story Of Bin Laden’s Death Changes

(Presidential spokesman Jay) Carney said on camera at a White House briefing on Tuesday that Bin Laden had not been armed. “On the first floor of Bin Laden's building, two al-Qaida couriers were killed, along with a woman who was killed in crossfire,” he said. “Bin Laden and his family were found on the second and third floor of the building. There was concern that Bin Laden would oppose the capture operation – operation rather, and, indeed, he did resist. In the room with Bin Laden, a woman – Bin Laden's – a woman, rather, Bin Laden's wife, rushed the US assaulter and was shot in the leg but not killed. Bin Laden was then shot and killed. He was not armed”/Robert Booth, Guardian. More here.

Teens: Ah, Who’s Osama Bin Laden?

However, it seems teens ages 13-17 were seeking more information as they made up 66% of searches for “who is osama bin laden?”/Yahoo Search Blog. More here.

Question: Are you amazed that many teens don't know who Osama bin Laden is/was?
