Pilgrim’s Market in Coeur d’Alene is now making ice cream at the store in time for hot summer weather. Owner Joe Hamilton worked with the owner of Bi-Rite Creamery in San Francisco to develop the new offerings, which include (from left) mango sorbet, strawberry balsamic, melted chocolate chip and dairy-free coconut vanilla.
Summer’s sweetest treat is enjoying a seasonal resurgence in Coeur d’Alene.
Both Pilgrim’s Market and Scratch Creamery & Pizzeria are offering a new rainbow of house-made flavors, ranging from strawberry balsamic and salted caramel, to roasted pear with gorgonzola and creamy peanut butter. Read more.

In Scanner Traffic at 5:35 this afternoon, an employee of Pilgrim’s Market on 4th Street in Midtown reports that he confronted a prospective customer who entered the natural foods store, wearing a gun in his waist band. The male said he had a right to bear such a firearm in such a matter under the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. But the guy didn’t want to push that right, leaving the premises in a green pickup.
Question: Do you think an individual has a right to wear and display his firearm as he did at Pilgrim’s Market?

North Idaho Facebook page, OrangeTV writes: “I always love spending some time picking out a couple of new brewskis to try at Pilgrims Market on North 4th Street in Cd’A, where the selection of micros and imports is wild and impressive.” OTV goes on to post a list of unusual varieties that he sampled and then commented on.
