What is there in the Idaho atmosphere that lets crazy things happen? Now the Kootenai Democratic Party has been invaded by a gang of ultra-conservative Republicans who have filed for Democratic Precinct Committee positions along with Larry Spencer, who is running for County Assessor — as a Democrat. Kootenai County Democrats are baffled. What have we done to deserve this unfriendly takeover? Have these party-hopping wanderers been swayed by the County Elections brochure, which lists options for Constitutionalists or Libertarians to participate in the primaries as “Democrats or Non-partisan”? Maybe they flipped a coin and chose to gang up on Democrats? Or did they just move so far to the right that they fell off their Flat Earth?/Mary Lou Reed, Inlander. More here.
Question: I suspect Kootenai County Democrats have things under control now, and will turn back the takeover challenge by Larry Spencer & his uber-cons. It might be harder to defeat Spencer in the Democratic Party primary for county assessor, however, since he'll be running against a write-in. What do you think will be the end result of Spencer's takeover attempt?
“Kiddo” is Spencer, an 8 year old, first grader at North Star School. “Kiddo” has autism. In many ways Spencer is like any first grader, he loves the trampoline, he loves Sponge Bob and he loves the water. But in many ways he is not like most kids. Diagnosed at age 5, he requires intensive therapy and constant attention. Thom George is using his camera and writing skills to tell “Kiddo's” story. Click here.
