Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann and possible presidential candidate Sarah Palin lambasted Vice President Joe Biden Monday night for negative comments he allegedly made about the Tea Party. Biden was reported by Politico on Monday to have agreed with an argument by Rep. Mike Doyle of Pennsylvania, who apparently asserted that “[w]e have negotiated with terrorists” during a closed-door meeting with House Democrats about the deal to raise the debt limit. “They have acted like terrorists,” Biden was said to have responded. The Hill reports that in an e-mail Monday night, Bachmann, R-Minn., condemned Biden's alleged statement and called on the vice president to apologize/CBS News Political Hotsheet. More here. Question: Should Biden apologize?
In the “Kids Say The Darndest Things” department, Ryan Brodwater tells of a conversation that he had with son, Bailey, Saturday night: “Bailey asked me why tourists want to do bad things to us,” begins Ryan. ”I said they don’t, and he replied, ‘Then why did they crash into those skyscrapers?’ It’s crazy to me that he even thinks about that, considering it happened about two weeks before he was born.”
Question: What other bad things do “tourists” do?
Lizard People: I read “extremist site” article and found it interesting. These people typically have unusual ideas about how to get out of parking tickets, but I wouldn’t go so far as the article did in calling them “paper terrorists.” If there is such a thing as “paper terrorism”, then terrorism has lost all real meaning. I’m a “blizzard terrorist” when I go to DQ and get the two for one deal and eat them both without sharing. DFO is a “Headline Terrorist” when he writes a headline I feel is partisan against PaleoCons. OTV is a “Smart Alec Terrorist” when he makes me laugh in spite of myself.
Question: Do we tend to use the word “terrorist” too loosely? In the loosest sense of the word, what kind of a terrorist are you?
