WoO Sprint Car Series Preview: Riverside International Speedway & Tri-State Speedway

The World Of Outlaw Sprint Car Series has competed on ¼-miles three times this year with three Joey Saldana and Jason Meyers picking up wins in those event. Both of those drivers are locked in a tight point battle as the Top-Five in the series standings are separated by just 75 markers heading into this weekend’s pair of races. Donny Schatz, the three-time and defending series champion leads 20-time title winner Steve Kinser by 28 markers, with Meyers third, Saldana fourth and Craig Dollansky fifth.

WHAT
• The string of events on high-banked bullrings continues this weekend for the World of Outlaws as the series heads to Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas followed by a stop at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. Both tracks are ¼-miles and provide some of the best racing all season for the series. The series has competed on ¼-miles three times this year with three Joey Saldana and Jason Meyers picking up wins in those event. Both of those drivers are locked in a tight point battle as the Top-Five in the series standings are separated by just 75 markers heading into this weekend’s pair of races. Donny Schatz, the three-time and defending series champion leads 20-time title winner Steve Kinser by 28 markers, with Meyers third, Saldana fourth and Craig Dollansky fifth. Kinser has two career wins with the World of Outlaws at Riverside International Speedway, along with seven wins at Tri-State Speedway with the series. Dollansky is the defending race winner at Tri-State Speedway and has won two of the last three races for the series at the track, while Donny Schatz was victorious at Riverside last season.

WHEN

• On Friday April 24 at Riverside International Speedway, the pit gates will open at 3 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates also opening at 3 p.m. Central with time trials set for 6:30 p.m. Central.

• On Saturday, April 25 at Tri-State Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2:30 Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 3:30 Central with hot laps set for 6 p.m. Central.

WHERE
• Riverside International Speedway is located in West Memphis, Arkansas. Take I-55 to exit 4 in Arkansas, then -.3 miles south, then 0.2 miles east on Broadway, then south on Legion Road.

• Tri-State Speedway is located in Haubstadt, Indiana, three miles north of I-64 on U.S. 41.

• On Friday, April 24 at Riverside International Speedway all tickets will be $35. For tickets call the track at 901-840-1970 or 901-508-6200 or visit http://www.riversideinternationalspeedway.com.

• On Saturday, April 25 at Tri-State Speedway, general admission tickets on the day of the race are $30 for adults, $15 for children ages 6-12, with kids 5-under admitted free of charge in the general admission section. • Tri-State Speedway is a high-banked ¼-mile. The track record of 11.110 seconds was established by Sammy Swindell on October 8, 2004.
