Meridian, Idaho - September 25th and 26th - Both nights racing were dedicated to the memory of Tom Elliot, father of the #77 driver Matt Elliot, who had passed away just two weeks prior to the racing weekend.

22 cars unloaded for the first night of the Championship Weekend racing.  Three contenders for the crown of ASA/NSRA 2009 Champion were whittled down to just one at the end of the nights racing.  Matt Hein in the #98h had bad luck on lap two of the A Main being involved in a crash in turn one with the #7v of Cody Veenstra and the #05 of Jeff Russell.  Hein would return to the track under the caution to finish 14th ahead of 2nd place points contender Jeff Montgomery in the #33j but behind the 3rd place points contender Cory Lockwood in the #99.  Hein would earn enough points throughout the night however to make it impossible for Montgomery and Lockwood to catch him for the Championship.  Montgomery and Lockwood both had engine issues of their own preventing either from capitalizing on Hein's misfortune.

With the ASA/NSRA Championship tucked away for Hein the racing continued Saturday night.   Again twenty-two cars unloaded but with one change.  The #5 of Steve Freeman had packed up having engine issues determined to be to extensive to overcome.  In his place the #14j of Brandon Johnson unloaded to race.  Both Jeff Montgomery and Cory Lockwood had resolved their engine issues both relating to fuel delivery.  Hein started sixth, Lockwood started fourth, Montgomery was way back in the field starting fourteenth.  Hein and Lockwood worked their way to the top two spots, Hein leading over Lockwood with a spirited battle for the top position for a number of laps until Lockwood and Hein got together in turn two both spinning into the infield.  Both rejoined the field at the back.  Hein worked his way back up to seventh position, Lockwood moved forward to the ninth position, while Montgomery finished ahead of both in sixth position.
