As a member of NASCAR's Next9 program highlighting rising stars climbing the NASCAR national ranks Cameron Hayley's 2012 season was highlighted by just five top-5 finishes in 15 races. With other Next9 drivers like Corey LaJoie, Dylan Kwasniewski and Kyle Larson winning races and championships, Hayley wasn't sure he belonged in such accomplished company. That was until last week's big win in the UNOH Battle at the Beach.
Jimmie Johnson's second career Daytona 500 victory comes in his 400th start on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The win also marked Hendrick Motorsports seventh win in the Daytona 500.

If the performance holds through two more rounds of qualifying, it will be his 72nd No. 1 of his career. During his run, Schumacher’s parachutes failed to deploy properly and his 8,000-horsepower machine came to a stop in the sand trap at the end of the track. He was not injured.
