Dylan Kwasniewski, the reigning NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion, bested the legendary .533-mile high-banked oval and the other 35 competitors on Saturday to win the DRIVE4COPD 125 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship season opener. Kwasniewski's victory was his first on the East series as he begins his quest for the 2013 championship one season after claiming the West title.
A year after becoming the youngest race winner and youngest rookie of the year in series history, Dylan Kwasniewski became the series youngest champion.
After starting on the pole for the fifth time this season, Dylan Kwasniewski fell back through the 24-car field in the early going with the tire problem. After a quick pit stop to change the flat, he began to scratch and claw his way to the front of the field. Kwasniewski made a Lap 119 pass on Eric Holmes and led the rest of the way for his third victory of the season and the fifth of his career.
Dylan Kwasniewski, who picked up his first win of the season and third of his career, started from the pole and led every lap in the first NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at the quarter-mile track since 2006. It was also the sixth time in nine NASCAR K&N Pro Series West races at Stockton since 2002 that a race was extended past its advertised distance.
