Ron Capps powered his NAPA Auto Parts Dodge Charger to his fourth win at the scenic Bay Area track with a holeshot performance of 4.085 seconds at 307.79 mph to hold off the Castrol GTX Ford Mustang of 15-time world champion John Force in the final round. It marked the 40th career win for the California native.
Shawn Langdon (Top Fuel), Vincent Nobile (Pro Stock) and Hector Arana Jr. (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event, the 15th of 24 in the 2013 season.

Matt Hagan powered his Magneti Marelli/Rocky Boots Dodge Charger to the final round win over fellow Virginian Blake Alexander, veteran driver Tim Wilkerson, and rookie Chad Head to take his sixth career victory.
Chad Head, a second generation racer, powered his Head Racing Toyota Camry to a career-best performance of 4.014 seconds at 315.19 mph to top the 16-car field. Head is the son of longtime NHRA nitro racer Jim Head, who has earned multiple wins in both Funny Car and Top Fuel as a driver.
Allen Johnson used a quicker reaction time to defeat teammate Jeg Coughlin in the final round of the Pro Stock division action for his first victory of the season and the 17th of his career. The defending world champion finished in 6.535 at 212.59 in his Team Mopar Dodge Avenger, just in front of the quicker, but losing, JEGS.com/Mopar Dodge Avenger of Coughlin, which posted a 6.514 at 212.25.

Allen Johnson powered his Team Mopar Dodge Avenger to a performance of 6.951 seconds at 198.29 mph to take the 25th No. 1 qualifying effort of his career and fourth at the Denver track. Spencer Massey, Jack Beckman and Hector Arana Jr. also will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event being held in Morrison, Colorado.
Spencer Massey, the current points leader in Top Fuel, was able to post a run of 3.914 seconds at 318.02 mph in his FRAM / Prestone dragster to move to the top of the qualifying order. He is riding a wave of success coming off of the most recent event in Norwalk where he defeated Steve Torrence in the finals for his fourth win of the season. He is the defending race winner at Bandimere Speedway and led the category in both qualifying sessions.
