Beckman, Line, Grubnic, Krawiec lead Maple Grove NHRA qualifying

After a dominating performance during Friday’s qualifying runs, BJack Beckman powered his Schumacher Electric Dodge Charger to a time of 4.003 seconds in Saturday’s first qualifying attempt, which was quick enough to certify his 3.989 effort from Friday as an NHRA national record. Beckman, who now trails series points leader Ron Capps by only 17, will earn a 20-point bonus if he hangs onto the record following the completion of Sunday’s 11 a.m. eliminations.

Brown, Beckman, Enders and Krawiec win NHRA divisions at St. Louis

Antron Brown, who battled side-by-side with Massey all weekend, took the victory with a final round performance of 3.766 seconds at 325.22 mph in his Matco Tools/Aaron’s dragster, while Massey trailed with a 3.812 at 324.05 in his FRAM/Prestone dragster.

Johnson nets Mile High Nationals victory on NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series

Allen Johnson driving his Team Mopar Dodge Avenger defeated V. Gaines in the final round with a winning run of 6.951 seconds at 197.31 mph. Local favorite Gaines trailed with a performance of 7.144 at 160.35 in his Kendall Oil Avenger. Johnson was the No. 1 qualifier, set a new track record for elapsed time and was able to set the overall top speed and elapsed time during the event.It was his sixth consecutive career final round appearance at the track. Antron Brown, Jack Beckman and Eddie Krawiec also scored wins in their respective categories at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event near Denver.

Johnson locks up top spot in NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Pro Stock qualifying

Allen Johnson powered his Team Mopar Dodge Avenger to a performance of 6.951 seconds at 198.29 mph to take the 25th No. 1 qualifying effort of his career and fourth at the Denver track. Spencer Massey, Jack Beckman and Hector Arana Jr. also will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event being held in Morrison, Colorado.

Massey, Arana Jr., Johnson, Beckman lead NHRA qualifying in Colorado

Spencer Massey, the current points leader in Top Fuel, was able to post a run of 3.914 seconds at 318.02 mph in his FRAM / Prestone dragster to move to the top of the qualifying order. He is riding a wave of success coming off of the most recent event in Norwalk where he defeated Steve Torrence in the finals for his fourth win of the season. He is the defending race winner at Bandimere Speedway and led the category in both qualifying sessions.
